The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description
This frozen aspen scene was painted in reverse on plexiglass. A technique where the painting is done in a backwards fashion, applying the traditional first layer of paint last an the last layer first. The result is a spectacular dimensional, abstract work of art with the high gloss of the plexiglass on the front and layers of textured paint on reverse. This aspen is over painted on the front to highlight the large focal aspen and falling snow giving the work even more of a 3-d effect. Beautiful!
